The M-17 Team Travel Ulysses Academy participated in a major tournament every young hockey player would want to live: the Hill’s Hockey Classic Bardown Toronto. With a record of 1 victory and three defeats, the Ulysse team was very competitive this weekend. The competition is really fierce and intense for all tournament games. Our young players loved the experience but also saw all the visibility attached to it. Recruiters from major Canadian junior clubs, Preps Schools and American colleges were at the rendezvous for this very tough competition.

Here is a short summary of Ulysse Academy matches:

Match 1: 2-1 victory against the Sudbury Wolves. Markers for Ulysse are Samuel Hatto and Mathieu Hébert on the power play. Passes for Félix Turbide and Charles-Olivier Adam. Excellent match of Tomi Gagnon with 32 saves.  The player of the game Bardown Classic !

Match 2: Defeat 3-1 against the Vaughan Kings. The special power-play units have been neutralized, this is the turning point of the game. The scorer was Emerick Nadeau on passes from Samuel Hatto and Zachary Desmarais. Very good match of Karl-Olivier Leblanc with 28 stops.

Match 3: Defeat 4-1 against the powerful Mississauga Rebels team, first in the Toronto Midget AAA league. Samuel Hatto, the only scorer, on passes of Zachary Desmarais and Charles-Olivier Adam. Tomi Gagnon made 34 saves in this game.

Match 4: Defeat 2-0 against the Barrie Colts. This match which had like challenge to finish with a record of .500% for the weekend if the victory was at the rendezvous, disappointed. Ulysse dominated in shots, chances to score but could not capitalize on the power play unfortunately. Karl-Olivier Leblanc was solid in front of the Ulysses cage with 24 saves.
