Founded in 1970, The New Jersey Rockets have been iconic organization in American Junior Hockey boasting male and female teams from the novice to junior levels. The USPHL has been the stepping stone of many ex and current NHL players notably, Jack Eichel (Buffalo Sabres), Charlie Coyle (Minnesota Wild) and Jimmy Vesey (NY Rangers). Many NCAA division I colleges use the USPHL as recruiting grounds for their future student-athletes. In 2017-18, the USPHL will be celebrating its 5th year and has proven to be attractive scouting grounds for NHL teams.
Alexandre Touchette, who is currently playing for Ulysse Academy, will have the opportunity to show off his talent in the next coming season. The Laval native is in his 2nd season with the M-19AAA Ulysse hockey team. He passed on local Junior leagues and the RSEQ as his objective was to be recruited at the NCAA level. He felt that UA gave him the best exposure and provided him with the best training to get him to the next level. His decision has proven to be beneficial. Not only being the leading scorer of his team with 17 goals and 22 assists for a total of 39 points in 45 games, the 5 foot 9, 170 pound forward will pursue his hockey career with The New Jersey Rockets of the USPHL for the in the 2017-18 season.
Alexandre is described as a smart hockey player with good speed, good visions and great offensive ability. He will now set forth on a new journey south of the border.
